St. Georgean: Keltenbaumweg

Gudrun and Hertha showed us the old Keltenbaumweg Celtic memorial trails just outside of St. Georgean town yesterday. They were built to remember and reconstruct the lives of the Celtic people that lived in the area around 400 B.C. Artifacts have been unearthed in the area and studied including tools, rope, musical instruments, and even items traded from faraway lands as far as Greece. Since there is no written record of these people, only speculation, other research, and the artifacts can be used to conjure up an image of life back then. It is however recorded that the Romans eventually conquered the area around 30-15 B.C., which led to the decline of the Celtic culture in this area.
