The Villa apartment-style hostel in Zagreb met our needs nicely, except for the lack of reception (we arrived earlier than the time we entered to the booking and had to wait). There was nobody else staying at the hostel, so it was like having our own apartment in downtown Zagreb. The older interior was highlighted with chandeliers and gold taps, adding a touch of opulence. The staff was also very helpful, with the owner sending her daughter out to let us in early after we called and the daughter being knowledgeable as to which sights we should visit in the city. All around, aside from arriving early to no reception, Villa was a great private, classy place for our short stay.
